Mission

At Road to Reading Mobile Academy, our mission is to remove barriers to learning by delivering accessible, research-based literacy and academic instruction directly to learners. Through personalized, evidence-based teaching and inclusive educational support, we empower students of all ages to build confidence, achieve academic success, develop lifelong learning skills, and unlock opportunities for a brighter future.

Our Philosophy

Every learner deserves the opportunity to succeed regardless of where they live, their learning differences, or their family's schedule.

We believe literacy is the foundation upon which all future learning is built. Reading opens doors to opportunity, independence, confidence, and lifelong success. Through individualized instruction grounded in the Science of Reading and Orton-Gillingham principles, we strive to help every learner discover the joy and power of reading.

At Road to Reading Mobile Academy, we don't simply teach children to read—we help them build confidence, develop resilience, and realize their full potential.

Vision

A future where every child can open a book with confidence, every parent feels equipped to support learning, and every community recognizes literacy as the foundation for opportunity, independence, and hope.

What is Orton-Gillingham (OG)?

Orton-Gillingham (OG) is a structured, explicit, and multisensory approach to teaching reading, spelling, and writing. Developed from decades of research on how the brain learns to read, OG lessons are individualized to meet each learner's specific needs. Students are taught language skills in a logical, sequential order, building a strong foundation one step at a time.

Unlike one-size-fits-all reading instruction, Orton-Gillingham is diagnostic and prescriptive. Every lesson is guided by the student's progress, ensuring they master each concept before moving on. By engaging visual, auditory, and kinesthetic pathways, students develop stronger connections that support lasting learning and increased confidence.

Why Families Choose Orton-Gillingham

Orton-Gillingham is recognized as one of the most well-established approaches for students with dyslexia and is also highly effective for many learners who struggle with reading, spelling, or written language. It helps students:

  • Build strong phonemic awareness and phonics skills.

  • Improve reading accuracy, fluency, and comprehension.

  • Develop confident spelling and writing skills.

  • Gain confidence through personalized instruction at their own pace.

  • Create a solid literacy foundation that supports success in every subject.

At Road to Reading Mobile Academy, every Orton-Gillingham lesson is tailored to the individual learner. Whether a student has dyslexia, is behind in reading, or simply needs additional support, our goal is to provide high-quality, evidence-based instruction that helps each learner become a confident, capable reader.
